Film proposal

Film synopsis
The movie follows a group of girls who used to be friends in school but have lost touch over the years, but they all share the same secret of something they did when they were in school, but they all must meet back up as their secret may come out as some new evidence comes into light in an old missing persons case.
plot
The movie starts out with a girl (Sophie Davis) in her twenties sitting in front of the TV on her phone listening to the news in the background, just as she is starting to zone out she hears something that takes her interest and turns the TV up. It then switches to what she sees on the TV which is a news report states some new evidence has been found in a missing persons case. Seeing this Sophie quickly starts frantically typing a message on her phone in an old group chat saying that they need to meet up. After typing a few messages back and forth the three girls decide to meet up at Sophie’s house to get their story straight. After meeting they all greet each other as they haven’t seen each other in a while finally they all sit down and talk about what happened that night but just as they are getting into the story they are cut short by a sharp loud knocking at the door and someone stating they are the police and hen it cuts to each of the girls faces to catch their reaction.

Screenplay structure
Act 1 – this is the setup of the movie it beings with something been shown on the news which states that an old case has been brought back as some new evidence has been found
Act 2- shows everyone meeting back up and figuring out what they are going to do
Act 3-they have figured out there story just in time for when a detective comes to ask them questions about that night
Characters
Sophie – one of the main characters within the film, she is a very controlling person the leader of the group. Her costume is going to very professional which will show of her strong and controlling personality.

Lucy- more of a quiet person just goes along with what people say, she is a very laidback person which shows in her very plain costume of just jeans and a t-shirt. This very normal outfit makes her seem more relatable and likable to the audience.

Charlotte- unlike Lucy charlotte is very outspoken and speaks her mind which makes her tend to clash with Sophie at times. Her costume is quite dark yet plain not as professional as Sophie but not as plain as Lucy.

Target Audience
The target audience of this short film is going to be mostly teenagers and people in their early 20s as this is the age of which most of the main characters are which makes them more relatable to the audience. Also this movie is for older people as it may be a bit scary for a younger audience as it has things such as kidnapping in the storyline.

A Quiet Place Review

A Quiet Place Review

A Quiet Place falls under the genre of thriller/horror, the film follows a family living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland terrorised by giant reptile like predators with extraordinary hearing, but they are blind meaning if you are silent you are safe. The family live in constant fear as one tiny noise could mean their death, to make matters worse the mother is due to give birth to her baby any day. The only reason the Abbot family has survived this long is due to Reagan the daughter being deaf meaning the whole family communicates through sign language.
The movie never addresses how their world became and like this and if they are the only place affected by these predators. I think if more of a background story was given it could have given more depth to the story line and the characters. Although in an interview Krasinski stated that he developed the idea of the monster by watching mostly alien movies, but he didn’t want it to look like it was an actual thinking alien he wanted it to be like a predator or a parasite. Emily Blunt and John  Krasinski who play the two main characters fit the roles perfectly, one of the best scenes throughout the whole movie is when Evelynn goes into labour alone and has to be silent as the monster is lurking about their house, she is walking around the basement too find a place to stay and has a nail go through her foot, it is a very hard scene to watch due do its shock factor but it shows how well blunt plays the role.
As the majority of the movie is silent it creates a very tense atmosphere as you are almost always waiting for something to happen, also the eerie silence makes the jump scares much louder and more terrifying. The climax of the film comes when Regan realises that the key to killing the monsters is her hearing aid. This adds to the sadness of the ending as you realise that the did not need to die as they had what could kill them all along. Overall, I do think that it was a very good film and I highly recommend watching it in cinemas as it gives the full affect of the silent movie and from a budget of $17,000,000 it has done extremely well and accumulated $332,583,447 worldwide.

Learning Aim A

Codes and Conventions of Digital Magazines from emeliacrocker

technical considerations also need to be considered within the distribution of the magazine, for print magazines as it will cost a lot more to print and distribute print magazines as more people will need to be employed to produce the print copies of the magazine. some of the other technical considerations of print magazines would be if it would be printed in A4 or A5, the style of the fonts to be used and how will the reader navigate through the magazine. A big technical consideration for print magazines would be where will the readers be able to buy the magazine and will it be easy to find, also how the reader will navigate throughout the magazine will they have to zoom in and out to read the article. you also have to consider some of the things that will go wrong such as some colors and fonts will not translate into digital so the magazine could potentially look different. some of the platforms that could be used to distribute a digital magazine would be Amazon who use Mobe and Barnes and Noble who use epub,.
